What makes a Baby Aspen sleep sack so unique is its design. They are literally too cute for words! While they only seem to offer five different designs of their Snuggle Sack, the “My Little Night Owl” and “Snug as a Bug” designs are by far their most popular.
Many people actually use Baby Aspen Snuggle Sacks as Halloween costumes or for dressing up for a photo shoot. They are THAT adorable!
Material and Warmth
High quality materials are used and you’ll immediately notice these sleep sacks feel more heavyweight than most other brands. Inside is a 100% ultra-soft cotton lining. The outer shell is polyester but feels quite soft and snuggly.
Some designs have different outer textures. For instance the owl design has a ribbed pattern. Overall the fabric feels very “luxurious” and high end. Because of the thickness, the Snuggle Sack would be best for winter time or nights with chillier temperatures.
Baby Aspen Snuggle Sacks are only available in one size: 0-6 months. Even then, the size seems to run a bit small so unless you have a smaller than average baby, expect a need to upgrade at 4-5 months. You also need to be careful washing and use cold water to prevent the sleeping sack from shrinking.
While a cute matching hat is included with each sleep sack, many complain that it’s almost useless after about 2-3 months due to its small size and lack of stretchiness. That said, most professionals will tell you that babies should only wear a hat for a few days after coming home from the hospital and not during sleep. Those complaining probably want the baby hat on for pictures.
Designs and Features
The Snuggle Sack has both snaps on the shoulders as well as a zipper on the bottom which is supposed to help with diaper changes. The only problem with the zipper is that it doesn’t extend up on the sides or the front like some of the more well-known brands.
This actually makes diaper changes a bit more difficult since after unzipping, you still have to roll up the sleep sack to access the diaper.
Fabric design is Baby Aspen’s main selling point. It’s really hard to pick a favorite as they are all adorable. Here’s the full line-up:
- My Little Night Owl
- Snug as a Bug
- Born to Be Wild
- My Little Monkey
- Beary Snuggly
What We Like
- Designs that are so darn cute!
- Quality materials and workmanship (it looks and feels high end)
What We Don’t Like
- Hat is way too small and not very stretchy
- Zipper is on the bottom only
- Wish it came in more sizes
While it may not be the most practical sleep sack, it’s definitely one of the most fashionable. For Halloween time or picture time, it can’t be beat. If you purchase it as a baby shower gift, everyone will absolutely love the cuteness and uniqueness. That said, there are better options for actual sleeping such as the Woolino, SwaddleDesigns, or Baby DeeDee.
