Sadly, jetting off to tropical shores is a pipedream for so many of us. Although our pockets might not stretch to getaways in Thailand or the Maldives, there are plenty of low-cost beach holidays available to fit all budgets.
From Turkey, Fuerteventura and Crete, to Goa and Florida, there are beautiful beach destinations all over the world waiting to be explored, and it doesn’t have to cost the earth.
Fuerteventura, Canary Islands
Known for having the best beaches of all the Canary Islands, Fuerteventura is brimming with magnificent beaches boasting sugary soft white sands. This laid back destination is fabulous for all who want to do nothing else but kick back and relax.
Greece doesn’t usually come out on top when it comes to the beach destination rankings, but there it seems that the striking coasts of Chania are often overlooked. Powdery white sands and enchanting coves await you. Be sure to go out of your way to experience Dhomata and Glyka Nera. They’re worth it.
Turkey is the ultimate destination for low-cost beach breaks. Miles and miles of beaches line crystal clear, twinkling waters. Whichever resort you choose to stay in, you are guaranteed there will be an award-winning beach not so far away.
A little further afield, Goa in India is situated approximately seven hours away from the UK. Beaches here are postcard perfect, idyllic palm-fringed shorelines. Mixed with the local cuisine and regional wildlife, Goa holidays are a little piece of paradise.
Away from the parks and attractions in Orlando, Florida has some other stunning resorts more suited to a relaxing jaunt abroad. Clearwater, to the south of Florida, close to Tampa, is a breath-taking base for a long haul budget beach holiday.
