Langkawi, also known as the Jewel of Kedah, is an archipelago of 104 islands (5 are only revealed during low tide) located in northwestern Malaysia, close to Thailand. To get to the island, you can take a direct flight from Singapore, Kuala Lumpur or Phuket or you can choose the ferries operating from mainland Malaysia or Thailand. Anyway, once you get there, perhaps one of the best destinations on the island is the Four Seasons hotel located on the splendid Tanjung Rhu beach.
Room prices start at around $500, but you can get it even cheaper through one of their special offers and the price is totally worth it, because you get 91 absolutely amazing pavilions and villas, family pool and quiet pool for adults, daily yoga program, bicycles for exploring the island, tennis court, fitness center and restaurants serving traditional Malaysian food. And if you’re thinking this isn’t enough, there are also a lot of things you can see on the island, such as the amazing Telaga Tujuh Waterfalls, Kilim Karst Geoforest Park (is just a few miles away from the hotel), Gunung Raya (the tallest mountain on the island offering beautiful views), Laman Pardi Rice Garden (rice fields landscape) or Crocodile Adventureland.
