Inspiration needed for your summer wedding drinks? We’ve been searching for the most refreshing cocktails and we chose the following five to help us beat the heat. They are more or less classic, but they all contain fruit juice. Enjoy!
1. Sea Breeze
Sea Breeze is a classic summer cocktail, easy to make and as easy to drink on the side of the pool or on the beach. You only need vodka with cranberry juice and grapefruit juice, poured over ice and usually garnished with a lime slice. When well shaken, the ingredients will create a foamy surface. P.S. it’s also low in calories (ladies 😉 ).
2. Pina Colada
One of the most famous cocktails around the world, you can enjoy it while humming the Pina Colada song, “Escape“. Pina Colada contains white rum, coconut milk and pineapple juice, garnished with pineapple and maraschino cherry.
3. Singapore Sling
A soft and sweet drink, invented at the beginning of the past century by a bartender working in Singapore Raffles Hotel. The original Singapore Sling repice was lost and you’ll probably won’t find any two alike recipes for this drink, but you can go with the official one, from the International Bartenders Associtian website: gin, cherry liquor, Cointreau, Benedictine, Grenadine, pineapple juice, lemon juice and some drops of Angostura bitter, all put in the shaker with ice cubes and garnished with pineapple slice.
4. Tequila Sunrise
Another classic cocktail, Tequila Sunrise is perfect to enjoy while listening to one of the songs named after it (though the Cypress Hill version probably isn’t as much wedding appropriate as the Eagles one). Tequila and fresh orange juice, poured over ice cubes, Grenadine added for the chromatic effect and garnished with an orange slice.
5. Blue Lagoon Margarita
Not as famous as the previous recipes, but highly appreciated. Blue Lagoon Margarita contains Tequila, Blue Curaçao, lime juice or lemonade and ice, all poured in a blender and processed at high speed. Garnish the edges of the glass with salt and enjoy.
